I once read about a planned homestead community in one of these states, and can't find it now because I lost my favorites with a crash.

Everyone was to grow food and bring it the the market place of the small town. There were to be shops etc.

It was being planned by homestesd Christians.

Unfortunately the local council of some sort decided it was not what they wanted for their "progressive" community  Cry Cry  I am not sure what all is going on now, it has been awhile since I heard from them.  I do know that the Brown family moved to another town. 

I LOVED the idea and would have moved there in a heartbeat if it was around SW Missouri or SE Kansas closer to our family.  DH and I were seriously talking about living there, DH even flew up there and met with Josh Brown.  I was telling DH just last week that living some where like that was sounding better and better all the time....
